Got CS5 in the mail and installed it this morning. So far, so good. Stable, installed fine. I installed the 64 bit version as I'm on Windows 7. Having fun looking at all of the new stuff. Of course, I'm coming from CS3, so there's more to look out for. While trivial, the Window>Extension>Kuler thing was a neat little find. The new brushes-and all of their options, will take some experimenting. Been playing around with Fill>Content Aware some-pretty interesting. Enjoy the different arrange documents options. Don't have the tab thing down yet when you have multiple files open-am sure I'll get the hang of it soon.

    Well...more investigating to do!

Doris... I disabled the tabs... Didn't like them in CS4, and still don't like them... But now that I've set them all to open as floating windows, I'm a happy camper.

Confession: is it wrong to be in love with software?

So both of you went back to float did you? That's funny. Maybe I just won't dink with it then and do that same. Thanks for letting me know.

Mini-Bridge sure is neat. Just got done watching a tutorial about it. People moving from PSE 8 that like the photo bin at the bottom, might like docking it at the bottom, setting up a desktop like that and having a film strip along the bottom. I think I will be using mini-bridge a lot.

    Off to explore more!

    Hi Doris ...

Must admit that I donlt use mini bridge ... I just use the main bridge.

dmrdm--you lucky lady!! Getting a new computer & the lastest best photoediting program all at the same time! Why I can hardly think of anything better than that. It must be very exciting at your house.
Jan, there is absolutely nothing wrong with loving your program. Nothing at all. We need to love things in life to make it rich & full. I wonder how Shar is coming along with her adventure. Last I think she wrote she was going to turn off her elements 8 so she woudn't go back to that as fall back all the time till she got a beter hang of her new program

Yes, it's really been fun. If CS 5 hadn't come out with all of these fun new features, I'd still be using my old computer and CS3. Got along with it well, but it chugged a lot as it only had 1 GB of RAM. Since I had been on CS3, have to figure out all of the CS 4 and 5 stuff. Too bad it's not winter though, as I'd have more time as there wouldn't be all of the yard work.

I was thinking of PM'ing Shar, to see if she was still alive! Am sure she is having fun playing.

I only wish I was 20. It's too bad all of these neat toys weren't around when I was young~

ROTF....I'm still here! I've created 3 or 4 LOs now, using CS2, and already lusting after 5. You girls are wicked! I've been thru Linda's tuts on 2, and am in the midst of her tuts on CS3. I'm also stopping by the library today to pick up a book on CS2. I do well with good manuals. The one that comes with CS2 is sorely lacking in the info I want. Almost everything I've looked up refers me to the online Help. For some reason I don't relate to online Help as easily. I need to hold it in my right hand with a cup of coffee in my left hand.

Anyway, I'm having fun. Although a few things are more cumbersome in CS, there are some things that I like better, and I know that as I progress up the food chain in pursuit of CS5, it will get even more fun.

The only thing I reverted to PSE 8 for, was when I wanted to batch process my LOs to send them to Persnickety for printing. I couldn't figure out how to do that in CS2, and there was a time crunch, as the sale was ending.

Okay...time out! Gotta go eat breakfast, then meet a friend for a walk along the river. . . in the rain. Why is it that "walks in the rain" are so romantic for those in love, and just cold and messy when doing it for exercise?

    I'll be back!

The only problem with "being 20," is that you have (& have to come) so many distractions that you'd be frustrated at not being able to sit down with the toys for as long as you wanted. You'd have to go to work...fix 3 or 5 meals a day...do 3 loads of laundry every day...take the kids to soccer, etc., go to PTA meetings. Being 60-something is way better time-wise.

oooo....I just got home from the library with TWO CS2 books. Can't WAIT to dive in. One of them has lots of big pictures/illustrations and few words. I love those kinds of books!
