Robyn, glad you found the Font Thing, and got it working. Sorry that I didn’t get right back to you. I work during the day, and cook the evening meal, and have it on the table at 6:00, so my day is pretty full. I don’t usually get to the computer until 8 or 9 in the evening. Good thing that I don’t require much sleep, ‘cause I hate to leave the compooper and go to bed. The Font Thing is wonderful, now if I could just get my fonts organized into categories, that would really improve everything. LOL

Great thread here, Scrappers---keep up the fun-fonting!
Here's another one from my "library" of fonts that I think is fun!

Pirate's fonts —really fun and pretty free ones.

    Did someone post...http://www.dafont.com/new.php

They have font frames. You can use the font to make your frame or turn the frame into a brush. They also have a few that look like paint spats, they make nice grunge bruses. I also downloaded one that had curls and made brushes from those. One of my favorite fonts is...

I have downloaded many free fonts from ScrapVillage.com--they are alphabetized and very easy to use.

wow there are so many font sites out there to choose from, I dont know if I could even narrow it down to even a couple. I've been collecting fonts for years, I probably have about 2k. I use Suitcase 9 to organize them. That way I can load only what I want. I organize them by category. It makes it a lot easier. The hard part is setting it up if you have a lot of fonts. But its super easy. Here's a couple of websites that I use.

    www.fonscape.com

    http://www.acidfonts.com/index.html

    http://www.1001fonts.com/index4.html

    http://www.abstractfonts.com/

a couple of my favorite fonts are scriptina & pristina, I also love western fonts like P22's way out west.

Okay, I have never had any luck downloading fonts & opening them in my editor, so I just end delating them. I went to the Da Font site & downloaded fonts, extracted them into a file called "fonts" then tried to open them in pse #4. Told me it was the wrong type of program?? What am I doing wrong? Please.

Assuming you are running Windows XP operating system, here is a web address on how to install a zipped file font: http://www.microsoft.com/typography/...InstallXP.mspx

There is other information in the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) on 1001 Fonts.com It tells you how to install af font on a PC

    I hope this helps.

Thanks for all the great links and ideas. I like Comic Sans, Scriptina, Technical, and ding bat fonts (they make great objects to play with )

    Default Font question

I have a question about using fonts in work, scrapbooks or kits, to sell. I wouldn't use fonts that came with software, e.g. scrapbooking software.

What about the free downloads? Or are fonts for commerical use available?

I want to avoid unwitting piracy!
