Default moving files to external drive

I've threaded 'bout this on another forum but would like your thoughts. Alas my "c" drive filled up. I wanted to move my photos to an external powered drive without messing up the catalog/picture relationship. I tried the move command within the organizer and thought I could move the folders by dragging. I was not successful. I then selected the pics within the folder and using the move command created a new folder on the "F" drive. This worked but is sooooo slow when you have 382 folders and 18,672 pics to move. I talked to adobe India and they basically confirmed that you had to move the pics not the folders those had to be created. I have done a backup/restore on an old/new computer but that was "C" to"C". Is there a faster way of doing this. Alas I can not do a backup/restore now (to move the rest of the files) as there are files on both drives. Any suggestions?

Sorry you're having trouble... I don't have any other suggestions than to methodically go through the remaining folders and create a new one on your "F" drive, and then move the folders one by one. This is the worst part of the Organizer - it doesn't handle moving files around gracefully.

    Default Organizer woes

Thanks for the sympathy. As cameras require bigger files and as PSD files grow it seems like there is never enough space. Who would have thought that 500GB would be too small? Oh well I added 1.5 TB and will get a back-up drive of that size just in case.

    Thanks

    Happy scrappin"
