When I make a scrapbook page, I like to see it in the Organizer in the order in which I will have them in my scrapbook. I have been "tricking" the program to do this by changing the date and time so they line up properly. However, since using PSE9, this seems to work and then all of a sudden they are all mixed up again. Can you tell me what is happening and/or how to get them to be organized? Thanks.

Hmmm. Not a big organizer fan myself. Have you tried naming them "01-<rest of name>.psd" "02-<rest of name>.psd" etc? Have you looked in Edit->Preferences at how your "Date view" settings are set up? Newest/oldest first?

My experience: It doesn't matter what it's named. It sorts only by when it was created. I have some kits that don't show up all together in the organizer unless I select just them. It is because the elements were created at different times. I have solved this by going into the properties of the element (or layout) and changing the date. I don't know why yours have reverted after you did this.
I LOVE the organizer, but feel that a huge improvement could be made if we were allowed to move our stuff around at will. Let's put that on the wishlist.---Shar

Hummm, interesting topic. I am currently working on a scrapbook and am almost ready to print it, however there is a repeating element and line from a song that needs to be sprinkled about the scrapbook. It seems like the organizer would be the solution to seeing the pages quickly to see where I could place the element. I have stayed away from the organizer like the plague, too many headaches. I may give it a try today. If I can work up the nerve.CS6, PSE8

I tag my finshed pages (in PSE9) by year and then month so I can find them, then when you go to display down arrow box (top right) have it sort by import batch and they will come up in the order that they were put into the organizer. I believe in the thumbnail view under display it will sort by when it was added to the computer...but not totally sure about that

Hi, Turning your pages into an Album is the way to go. I always create a new album for whatever book I'm working on and tag each page with it. Once you're looking within the album, you can move those pages around any way you want. It would be nice though if you could do that within the regular tagged things in the organizer. For example, I have my embellishments tagged with separate ones for buttons, flowers, etc. It would be nice to be able to group together all of the green buttons or the purple flowers so you'd see them all together. That can't happen with regular tags.**********************

I love the organizer. If you right click on your picture or layout in the organizer there is an option to change the date and time. I often do this with kits to make all the elements have the same date. They often that have the paper pages with one date and the elements for another. I make them all the same date and time. I also like the idea for putting your pages in an album. I tag my scrapbooking pages: for Web, .jpg full size, and psd pages.

I finally decided to press in and learn the Organizer in PSE11. The concept I failed to understand before PSE11 was the difference between the catalog and an album. I scanned my 2004 paper scrapbook, just to find the scans every which way. What a mess. The scans were on different days before I finished. And yes, I was scanning via the Organizer. Then I made an album, just as people in this thread have suggested, and voila! I could move them around in order and then I could create a slideshow CD in order. I had started redating everything, but that's a real time eater. The biggest problem I have is to remember to NOT move the photos around in the HD folders. Once the Organizer is employed, all moving, naming, etc. must be through the Organizer. Despite all this, I think I'll keep pressing in because I want to be able to find a photo with a lot of subjects, events, places, etc. and I can see the Organizer can do that.Sue
