    Default Font Size Matters

The font drop-down box does not work in my PSE8. If I increase the size, as in the March 1 tip of the week, there is a large flash of a white box. No matter the size of fonts, it doesn't work. Sometimes it will drop down in a flash but it won't stay. I can use different fonts once I know their name by using the down arrow but it's rather annoying. Has anyone else had this problem or happen to know a solution? Thank you!

Have you reset the text tool? On the left end of the options bar look for the tiny down-facing triangle, choose it and click on "reset tool" and see if that doesn't fix it.

The drop-down text list did have some bugs in earlier versions.

Thank you for your reply. I tried your suggestion but I'm afraid it did not help. I also "reset all tools" but it did not change anything. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program also. Maybe when I splurge on PSE9 the Adobe techs can help. When I downloaded the trial version of PSE9, it had the same problem. I very much appreciate your suggestion.

I don't understand what you're saying I guess. I went to the tip and attempted to figure it out. When I change it to small, the font is small and when I change it to hugh, the fonts are huge in the font viewing area of PSE 8.

Now I have to click on the down facing font arrow in the bar, to see the small or the hugh font in the font viewing area. Once I click on the down facing arrow, the font viewing area expands and I can see all of my installed fonts and I can use the scroll bar on the right side of the box to see more of them. As the tip mentions, if you have the font showing hugh, you have to scroll more to see them.

Are you saying when you click on the downfacing arrow you have no font viewing area that shows all of your installed fonts?
