We were talking in a recent thread about what an expensive hobby photography can be.
But the old saying really is true: The best camera is the one you happen to have in your hand.
So, we'll take away the pricey DSLRs for this challenge level the playing field for EVERYONE.
Go and get a disposable 35mm film camera. Yes. Disposable. Film. Not a disposable digital... they're too expensive. Just get a Fuji disposable for between $3 and $10, but no more.
Then shoot up the roll. Now, this isn't going to be as easy as it sounds... remember, we're so used to seeing our results on-camera. It will really be a test of your creative skills..... composition, available light... c'mon, you can do it! Really get creative. Try your very best not to just point and shoot. Experiment with different angles and points of view. Shoot something you'd never think of shooting. Be daring. Be bold. Be artsy!
Then get your images developed.... Yay! and scan them at 600 ppi. Then post your best images SOOC (straight out of the camera). If you decide you want to edit, you MUST post the SOOC image alongside it so we can see the difference.
Sound like fun? It will take longer than a week for some of us, so we'll run it for a month.
And YOU will be the judges who pick the winning photographer, based on the image or images they present.
The winner will get a beautiful book on digital photography. I'll post a picture of it here later.
Anybody want to play?

Oooohhh... School is out, this could be fun... Maybe give each of the kids a few shots, too.

Just found this thread today, I haven't been on this site for a while. Sounds like fun! I took a break from digi scrapping and this inspires me to get going again! Thanks!
