Default Bulk naming of photo files

How do we name more than one photo file at a time at the same time??

For eg, I want to add a keyword to about 6 photos so I can easily search for them. Do I need to do this one at a time?

Are you planning to tag them in iPhoto? It is pretty easy. Set up your keyword. Then click on the 6 photos, click on your keyword and you are done. Let us know if this is what you were looking for.

You can look in the "Help" menu in iPhoto for some hints and "how to" instructions.

I'm sorry, I should have explained... my daughter has a Mac and does not use iphoto (as I do). I was asking on her behalf how can photos in folders be re-named with keywords in bulk, rather than one at a time.

Does your daughter have Bridge? I know you can rename or tag in bulk using Bridge. I'm sure there must be other ways, but at the moment, I'm at a loss. Merry Christmas! Or is Christmas already over in Australia?

Linda had a wonderful segment on this in the Organization class and went over many examples and helpful hints on helping us organize our photos and scrapbooking materials ...but since you're only talking about 6 photos....

First of all....I know nothing about MAC's or Firefox-but if you're just doing a simple rename, with Windows, I go to my browser, click on the first photo, hold the shift key down, click on the last photo, right click, select, rename....and retype over the highlighted word. In my example, if I just typed YO, it would name then YO(1), YO(2), etc. I'm not sure if that's what you're trying to do, of if that even works on a MAC. Hopefully someone with a MAC will come by and offer aid, but with the Holidays, it could be awhile. (bridge-select photos the same way, go to TOOLS>BATCH RENAME.) Good luck.

    Happy Holidays.

My daughter doesn't have Bridge, but she has just done a google search and found some applications that help her with this. 'A better Finder Rename' was one she has found work for her.

I did Linda's Organisation class but as I was using iphoto I didn't take too much notice of photos... focussed more on organising my digi files. I will have a look when I get some time.

Christmas Day is almost at an end in Oz. I do hope those of you in the northern hemisphere have a lovely day with your families.
