How do you get the rough edges like that? I was a premier member for many years, but I don't know the name of the technique to look up? Any tips?

The frames look like they have several techniques used to make them. Try looking at October 2011 Fancy frame, February 2011 Design with mask and May 2011 Fancy Photo mask and see if they help.

Stephony, it looks to me like the photos are clipped to a clipping mask that has rough edges. Check out this video on clipping masks.

Hi Stephony,
Those edges were done using clipping masks (photo masks). The CT gals gave you information on how to use clipping masks. If you want to use the specific masks that were used in the layout you liked, just refer to the credits on the layout and you'll see where those masks came from.Jan Walker
