I read all the posts last year about Shutterfly’s New Custom Path not being very good for scrapbookers, but I have just had a 12 x 12 book printed with them and found it brilliant.
I turned off Vivid Pics as per Linda’s instructions, but there is no need to crop the layouts. I went straight onto making the photobook, clicking once on the full bleed option and just dragging the layouts onto each page. The same applied to the front and back cover – I just dragged it on and resized to fit.
The layout of the book has turned out perfectly, and the only thing I was disappointed with is that the pictures are darker than they appear on my calibrated screen. Is this always the case with photobooks?

I just did one, but I used their templates. Did like the feature that I could now, move all of picture holders all over. That was cool Had gotten a coupon for a free one and had just gotten back from vacation, didn't have time to make a real book. ;-) So just dropped a bunch of vacation pictures in. It turned out fine. I can't complain. Might have been a little warmer, but not darker. I didn't turn off vivid this time around. But I have had others from Shutterfly that were dark. If it's too dark for your taste, just tell them about it. Your satisfaction is always guaranteed with them and I've gotten free reprints from them in the past. Usually I think they tell you to turn off vivid...but since you already did that, I don't know what other options they have, especially since you do have a calibrated screen.
