Default New Layer Styles Won't Display in Menu

I just tried following the instructions on this forum for installing 3rd party layer styles in PSE 10 for Mac and the styles are not showing up in the Layer Styles Menu - however, they ARE appearing if I choose "Show All" - I'd really like to get them to show in the menu, though!! I've checked and rechecked the xml files and *think* I have them correct... What could be the problem?!

Thanks so much for any help!

It's hard to tell what's wrong without going through the process with you. Everything has to be so precise and correct or it won't show up! Did you put the xml files in the correct folder?

Did you create the xml files yourself ?

... and did you save them as .metadata.xml files ?

Here is the link to instructions for installing Layer Styles

    http://digitalscrapper.com/forums/fo...rd-Party-Files

and to install Brushes you just go into Applications>Adobe Photoshop Elements 10>support Files>Presets>Brushes.

Or you can just file the brushes in an folder on your Mac and then access them via Load Brushes from the brushes menu.
