    Default Creating Graduation Tassels

I have been looking all over the internet for a technique to create those graduation tassels that you seen on graduation caps. There are several sites that sell the digital tassels but I really wanted to make my own for my son's graduation pages.

I have tried scanning in his actual tassel and extracting it but it is not going as well as I wanted!

Any help that anyone can provide would be great!
    Thanks!

I made one of these ages ago and I think I started it off using Filter>Render>Fibers then I had to transform it, add highlights and shading plus make the top, wraparound and the hanger. They are not the easiest of things to make and it took me a long time to do it.

If you take a look here you will see that I reused it as a tassel on the baubles

    Hi Lisa

I made mine to include in a scrap booking kit and it took a long time to make ... because of that I recoloured it and used it for several other things

Wendy your stuff is always so amazing.

I have used the tassel in the premier kit here.. Celebrations. The tassel is blue, one element is attached to the graduation hat and I recolored the hat to match our school colors.

    Hi Bev ...

Funny you should mention that kit as I was part of the team that made it ...however the tassel was made by Nancy, I think it was a little later that I made mine.

I made the Scrolls, Corners, Eyelet Ribbon, Long Ribbon, Oval Frame, Tag, Hook, Fishing Rod, Nut, Screw and some of the papers.

My oldest DS graduated High School when that kit came out. Perfect timing for me. I love that kit and still use parts of it. I use the fishing rod on my pages since my boys are avid fisherman. I've used the scrolls on my nephews wedding pages. After I mentioned it I looked and don't see it for sale here so I wasn't much help.

Wendy - your stuff is amazing! I don't suppose that kit with the tassle is available for sale anywhere is it?? LOL My extraction went poorly and my patience to create one lasted until the 10th try. It seems to look so fake for me. I have been so busy with activities for my kids (theater, eagle coh, gradutation stuff) that my patience to try again is GONE! LoL

Thanks for all the help ladies!
