    Default New to the forum

    Hi from Kentucky!
I'm very new to Digital Scrapping & hope to be successful at it. So far it's a bit overwhelming. There's so much info to absorb but am determined to sort it out & get going on a project.

Thanks! OK here goes my 1st questions. I did email to the ADMN but wasn't sure if I should or post somewhere else.

I purchased the beginner lessons – Learn Digital Scrapbooking & watched the videos. Did the downloads of the Manual & All I Have To Do Is Dream Kit.

When I downloaded the kit which comes in 3 portions I clicked “OPEN file” & the kit automatically downloaded. The computer placed it in my downloads file - not documents or pictures.

I set up a project page in Adobe Elements 9 & added 4 photos from my computer to the Panel Bin.

Here’s my problem. From the Photoshop Elements 9 page I’m unable to open or access the downloaded free kit
"All I Have To Do Is Dream" so that I can begin my 1st Scrapbook Page.

Do I need to delete the downloads & download the files again?

If so, what option do I choose Save or Save As ? If I choose Save As – what should I call it?

Do the free kit files which include the papers, embellishments etc need to be stored in My Pictures or My Documents?

How do I access the free kit from Elements 9? Is there a way to view all the pages at one time? Am not sure how to go get supplies to begin my 1st page.

I did go back & review the introduction – Welcome portion of the lessons & didn't pick up on help there.

Thanks for your help & patience. So far I am not discouraged – just scratching my head a bit. LOL

Am using Windows 7, Elements 9 & Internet Explorer but can use Google Chrome if needed.

It sounds like you need to unzip your files. When you see them in your computer (not through photoshop), are they in a folder with a zipper on them? If so - you'll need an unzip program. What kind of computer are you using - MAC or Windows?

The computer placed in My Downloads & Yes they have a Zipper on them -- says they are compressed Zip files.

    I am using Windows 7.

Just right click on your zipped folder (compressed folder), and choose extract all.

It will create a folder in that "my downloads" that will contain all of your files.

Sorry, Colleen, I was editing, then rediting myself. There is one in windows you should be able to use now - I've edited my previous post.

That's ok I'm lost anyway! lol

I can open the files by double click in the Downloads. When open it pulls list of included pages.

There's a tab at the top to Open which pulls a list & Photoshop is listed. I tried to open using the Photoshop link & it says "cannot open" wrong type of file. there's another tab to Extract Files.

Sorry this is such a problem for me. Will check back later -- need to get dinner. Thank you
