Here is a very stupid question, I am sure but here goes...How to you print something on the inside of your card? I would like to print it on the mac and not hand write it.
Thanks for the help

Good question. I'm not sure and will wait for an expert to explain. Kind of depends on the size and style of card. You can design an 8.5 x 11 card and fold in half two times and print message and include design elements all on one side of the card. I've done that, but I'm not sure about 5x7 or other sizes. I think you might have to design another page but I bet there is an easier way.

barbz,
Hi there! You could run your paper through your printer twice. it would be tricky and you would have to know how your printer lines up with the paper.
Are you taking the Digi Cards 101 Class? If you are, you could use the printing template with your card face on it, and print it out. Then delete your card face from the printing template (figure out how your printer feeds paper and which side it prints on when you feed the paper into it) and type your greeting, verse, poem for the inside of the card, and print it out. It would be a little tricky, but I think you could do it.
For practicing, I recommend not having the actual card printing out, until you have figured it out to save on toner. Just type "test" or something on the printing template and see how it works. Then, I think you could do this. It's a great idea!
If that is too complicated, you could print out a separate greeting, verse, poem and just cut it to be the same size as the card when the card is folded. It would add some bulk to your card, but it's another solution that would be probably be less of a headache.
Does this answer your question? Feel free to email me at: andrea@digitalscrapper dot com if you have any questions. (If you put the full email addy in a forum, spam-bots will spam your email. Please type: .com where I said the dot com part).
Thanks!

Here in the UK our paper sizes are different ... we use something called A4.
I made a template for printing out two cards ... then a template for the inside too. I just run it though the printer then reverse the card and run it through again.
It took a while to make the template and get everything lined op but once you have done it you can use that over and over again

Hi Barbz,
I love making cards and I had the same question you do. I use CS5 so it may be differnt than PSE but I played around a lot and used the guides as well as groups to organize my front/back and inside card layers. That way I could just "turn off" the group for the inside of my card and print out the front/back at the first feed through my printer. Then I would "turn off" the group for the front/back group and "turn on" the group for my inside sentiment and graphics and feed my card through again. The group icon is to the left of my new layer icon in my layers palette.
I agree wtih using test paper and minimal text until you figure out your printer. I put a layer at the top of my layers palette with a reminder of how to feed it through the printer to remind me of how to do it and I just keep that layer hidden.
Have *fun*. I can't wait to start playing around with the cards/templates in the Digi Cards 101 class. They look great!Canon Rebel XTi, CS6

This is the hard part - figuring out how you feed your paper on the printer to print on the other side.( printers work different) I've done it & saved my test paper and added all kinds of notes & arrows etc. to remember how to do it. But if I haven't done it in a while I still have trouble figuring out my test paper & have to do it over again. I think this is why I haven't made alot of cards. It's hard to figure out, too , where to put your message for the inside (top half or botton) & also what should be upside down etc.

I've been printing cards for 10 years, and like Joanne, if I don't do it in a while - even with my samples and notes and arrows - I still screw up.This is the hard part - figuring out how you feed your paper on the printer to print on the other side.( printers work different) I've done it & saved my test paper and added all kinds of notes & arrows etc. to remember how to do it. If you haven't done it for a while, make sure you note how the first side comes out of the printer. Knowing which printed edge comes out first really helps when re-inserting the paper for printing the inside verse.
Create two separate projects - and print them as you would two separate projects. The only thing that is different is you're using the same piece of paper - after side one is done printing, you flip your paper to print the second project.
Note - that when you are creating a half fold card - wether vertical or horizontal fold - you will create on the same side of your project, i.e., for a horizontal fold, your front cover will be in the bottom half of your project -- and your verse will be in the bottom half of your project. For a vertical card, your front of the card will be on the right side of your project and your verse will be on the right side of the second project.

Thanks Janice for your help. I'm gonna write this info down for future use oher wise I'll forget it. I think I better start a file folder just for card making info.

For the last year or so I've been making 4x6 cards and print them on one side only on photo paper. Then I will write a personal note on the back side of the card. Makes is easier when printing for sure.
