    Default Lost my hardrive

It is not so bad I was backed up but I had been orgaizing my scrapping supplies in Elements organizer. The catalogs were not backuped. I thought they would when I back up everthing. oh well lesson learned. My question is does anyone have a super program they love to orgaize your supplies. I took the organization class and it has helped a lot but things change quickly and I wondered if there was something out there you just love. If I have to start over I want to ask. I still have the file structure for my kits and I file by designer but I like to orgaize my elements and papers by category. Any help would be great.

So sorry you lost your hard drive, but I'm really glad you had everything backed up!

I happen to tag in Windows using the explorer. But I only tag the kit preview, as opposed to the individual pieces. I also copy any alpha that I love and put it in an alpha folder since I'm an alpha hoarder and love being able to browse them, plus having a 'tool's folder of my favorite staples, stitches, brushes, etc. Otherwise, I'm a basic kit scrapper, so only tag those things that I know I'll use in the future.

I know a lot of people use ACDSee, but I did not like the program at all, it was unstable, and their support isn't great.

A lot of scrappers use ACDSee. I use iMatch.

When you say tag do you mean make a previews folder or are you changing the file name in some way. I like this idea and was trying to do a previews folder but it fell by the wayside. Your ideas are helpful.

I just tag the preview file of anykit/alpha, etc

Go to your preview .jpeg in windows explorere
    Right click
    Click Properties
    Click Details
Go to Tags - then go to just to the right of it - and there is a blank box where you can input tags about your preview (I tag designer, theme, any special keywords about the theme, and any special element inside that I want to make note of).

Then, when I'm trying to find a certain theme or a certain object, I can go to my start menu, and enter those keywords I want to use into the search box, and it will pull up all of those files that I have tagged with those keywords.

It takes less than 1 min. to tag any preview that I have with the few things that I tag them with, and I don't have to worry about losing the database for it the way I always did with ACDsee. It's a smaller process that works for me!
