PSE 9 Size of Window

Hi Everyone - again I'm embarrassed to ask this question as it seems so basic but I have fiddled and fiddled and cannot get it right. When I'm working in PSE 9 I am working in a very small window. Even if I close the projects bin, I cannot seem to get a decent size to work in. I have just been making the grid pattern as per Linda's video and I end up with a little window of 9.38% and just cannot find how to enlarge it. Please help!

PS: I have found it very difficult to put journalling on my pages as the whole scale is out and its so hard to picture how my journalling will appear.

Can you not grab the corner with the mouse and pull it larger? Do you have "allow floating windows" checked in Edit->preferences?

Are you working on a laptop?

Hi Trish - Yes I do have "allow floating windows" checked - I just tried pulling down from a corner to enlarge and the area got bigger but my "new document - 300 ppi - 300 res - transparency" stays small - abou 2.5 inches sq
??? and yes I am working on a laptop - interesting that you ask that question???

Hi Cheryl

Open your image and then try double clicking on the Hand Tool ... that should make the image the largest size that will fit onscreen (or at least it does on the Mac)

You might try doing Cntrl 0 to enlarge your page to fit the screen. I don't have access to PSE right now, but I think that's the command. See if that helps.

Oh, now I understand. Yes, ctrl-0 should do the trick. I also set the preference to allow my scroll wheel to zoom.

If you look in the View menu, you will see several commands for resizing your window, and they list the keyboard shortcuts for the commands as well. You will use these so much it's worth memorizing them! Ctrl + will zoom in and Ctrl - will zoom you out, and Ctrl 0 will return your window to fit the desktop.
