Default Using PSE 10 AND iPhoto?

I am so frustrated with my Mac version of PSE 10 - it won't automatically find new photos (that's the deal with Mac!!!). I have to go to File: Get Photos: and then dig down to where I put any new photos to move them into the organizer.

We have a brand new grand daughter and I keep forgetting where I saved new ones or whether I have imported others. Help!

Is it possible to use iPhoto for all my organization and then just use PSE10 to edit photos?

    Thanks,
    K

    I use Watch Folders - it's brilliant.

Thanks for your reply, but that's the whole problem - MacIntosh PSE10 software doesn't include the option of Watched Folders. It can't be done from a Mac!

So now I'm trying to find a way to get around the problem.

    Hi

I dont use the organiser at all I just use iPhoto and photoshop elements. My workflow is to import from my card into iPhoto then review the images. Any that need editing I export to a desktop folder called from iphoto. I then edit all of them using Elements and save them back into another folder called to iPhoto. Finally I go back into iPhoto and use add to library to bring the edited images into iPhoto.

I find it quicker to do it that way around rather than going back into iPhoto for each individual image.

You can set iPhoto to open images in Elements editor ... However you can't save the images directly back into IPhoto as that is likely to corrupt the iPhoto library.

Thanks for that tidbit. That makes sense to use separate folders to keep track of what I'm adding that is new.

hi Wendy - if you use iPhoto for your photos, is there any way to rename the photos as you import them? That is one of the features that I use a lot in PSE organizer.

Also, do you use iPhoto also to keep your scrapbook elements organized?
