🧡 Easy Advice For Keeping Your Creative Motor Running

Hi there!

What do you do to stay inspired to create?

Keep Your Motor Running!
There are many things you can do to keep yourself in the zone of feeling creative and scrapbooking on a regular basis.

Here’s a big one for me that might help you. BTW, this idea works for other crafts, not just scrapbooking!

Keep a Bit of Work-in-Progress in Plain Sight

Example 1. On the desk in my office, I keep a small, unfinished knitting or crochet project. This small-sized bit of creativity is easy to pick up where I left off. And as a bonus, my skills are kept fresh every time I pick it up.

Example 2. On my computer’s desktop, I keep a 12×12 inch document with several photos added to it. On days when I don’t have a lot of time, or when my motor is sputtering, I’ll open it and continue its progress. And as a bonus, every time I pick it up, I’m keeping my skills fresh.

Keep the Circle Going
With both of those examples, however, you need to keep one thing in mind. Anytime you finish a project, you need to immediately start a new one. It needs to be a never-ending circle of creativity to keep your motor running.

I hope this helps you get more scrapbooking (and other crafts) done!

Love and creative success,

Jen White, Owner of Digital Scrapper

The great thing about MEL is—it’s never too late to start. It’s not weird to start in July. There’s nothing wrong about it. Now is the perfect time to grab the everyday moments in your week and put them down on paper (in a tiny story format) along with a photo.

Julie L said, “This project is such a wonderful way to keep grounded and look for the positives!”

Diane T said, “I am finding that keeping up these pages is helping me to retain perspective about my life at the moment. The good moments help to outweigh the bad.”

Linda G said, “I really am enjoying this project. The daily prompts cause my mind to venture out into places I don’t often spend much time thinking about. The everyday normal becomes something special and noteworthy. What fun!”

Pat K said, “I started the MEL class very worried it would be too much for me to tackle right now. Just so you know, I think it is the best thing ever for me.”
