What does Pantone’s Color of the Year mean to you?
I see that this year’s color is “Mocha Mousse (Hex# 9e7a68) and I have to say that this color is right up my alley. I love earthy tones. But what can this trendy color focus mean for you?
COLOR IDEA #1. Use the Pantone Color of the Year to make an easy-peazy decision on what color to use in decorating your home. A couple of years ago, I painted my kitchen and dining room space with Pantone’s suggestion. I still LOVE it. You just can’t go wrong with the most popular trend.
COLOR IDEA #2. Because this color will be the trend for 2025, you’ll likely be seeing it a lot in scrapbooking kits. But it’s probably not going to match your photos real well. UNLESS….. You do this:
1. Turn your photo black and white (PC: Shift Ctrl U, Mac: Shift Cmd U) by desaturating it.
2. Add a Color Fill Adjustment layer using Pantone’s 2025 color (Hex# 9e7a68). Then, change the Blend Mode of the Color Fill layer to Overlay.
3. It’s probably going to be tooooo much. So, lower the Opacity of the Color Fill layer to 50%.
