Troubleshooting Ligatures in Photoshop

Digital Scrapper Quick Tip, Character Panel

Troubleshooting Ligatures in Photoshop by Jenifer Juris

Does the font you’re using sometimes have a mind of its own? Learn how to fix that issue by
utilizing the Character panel in Photoshop.

Things to Remember About Fonts and Standard Ligatures:
• Not all fonts have standard ligatures.
• If a font does have standard ligatures, the standard ligatures included are up to the font creator. This means that not every font has the same set of standard ligatures.
• If the font does not have standard ligatures, the Standard Ligatures icon will be grayed out in the Character panel.

This tip is only for Adobe Photoshop.

Thanks for the tip! I’ve been using (and loving) Photoshop since 1998, I took classes at the community college before I found Scrapper’s Guide and Linda in 2005. I took all the classes she offered and many more, but I’ve never seen this. I don’t think I will ever learn all there is to know about Photoshop!
Also, a shout out to Joyce! I am from Wisconsin, too!
