Overcoming Scrapbooking Fussiness & Fatigue, TIP #3
Way early in my creative story, a good friend spoke this truth into my life:
A good artist always knows when to quit.
If not taken too literally, this truth can be applied to all areas of life; I find it especially helpful in my scrapbooking world.
Here’s the short of it: Girl, stop fussing!
Overcoming Scrapbooking Fussiness & Fatigue
TIP #3—Tell the Story, Then Stop
At some point, every scrapbook page reaches a stage where it’s finished enough.
The problem is that many of us don’t stop there. You know who you are. Come on, raise your hand.
Repeat after me:
- If the photos are visible…
- If the story is documented…
- If your eye knows where to look…
Then your page is doing its job. It’s done!
Before adding one more custom shadow, one more staple, or one more word strip, ask yourself:
“Am I improving this page, or am I just afraid to call it done?”
Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is save the file, close it, and move on to your next memory.
Because the goal isn’t to create a perfect page.
The goal is to preserve a meaningful story.
