Review of a Photo Book from MixTiles
by Val Sleger
When I finished my 2025 “My Everyday Life” project, I started looking for places to print my book. Having just paid a hefty price for my Europe album with Shutterfly, I was intrigued when I saw an ad for Mixtiles pop up in my Facebook feed. They offered a 10×10 hardcover with full-bleed pages for a flat rate of $79. Full-bleed meant none of my edge work would get lost to white borders. Their flat rate included shipping and a generous page count; up to 200 pages were included at the same cost.
It was simple to design my book. I simply uploaded all the pages, which I had numbered in order. On first pass, I neglected to upload my cover. Mixtiles randomly chose one of my pages for a cover. When I uploaded my cover page, even though it was numbered lower than page 1, it still dropped into the middle of the book, and the original “cover” was now page 2. I had to do some shuffling around. So…heads up; send up your cover at the same time as the rest of your pages.
I placed my order and settled in to wait. When I clicked “Submit” on January 1, I was promptly notified that, due to heavy orders, my expected delivery date was January 29. I was pleasantly surprised in mid-January when my tracking number showed my book was now being delivered on the 16th.

Once my order was placed, I was sent a link to a PDF file showing all my pages. Now that the book is complete, I also have a flipbook online.
The book came nicely packaged in an easy-open, stiff-cardboard sleeve. The pages, as described on their website, are “premium, high-quality…featuring a velvety, silk feel and wood-free texture designed to minimize glare while keeping colors vibrant.” I find this is an apt description.
Because I was a first-time customer, I was offered a 20% discount on my order, so after tax, my total bill came to $68.20. US pricing as of late January, 2026, is $49 for 8×8, $79 for 10×10, and $99 for 12×12. They currently ship to the US, Canada, UK, EU, and Australia.
If you have a book with a lot of pages, and you don’t want to wait for one of Shutterfly’s sales, give Mixtiles a look. It’s nice to have an additional option to consider for your creations.
