6 Tricks of the Trade for Staying Creatively Inspired
Being the owner of Digital Scrapper, I not only have to keep my ducks in a row, but I have to keep them quacking at all times. Over the years, I’ve learned what I need to do to stay inspired and feel creative. Here they are:
🟠 Get a New Kit
Using the same old kits over and over is not inspiring, so I occasionally buy new scrapbook kits. This juices me up! I won’t spend a lot, usually less than $10, but as an added bonus, it makes me feel good to support my favorite artists.
🟠 Create a Cluster
When I get a new scrapbook kit, I try to immediately find my favorite element and make a small cluster. That cluster file (PSD) is then saved within the kit’s folder. This makes a nice starting point when I have time to return and create a page.
🟠 Circle My Creativity
To keep my creativity from stalling out, I try to keep a work-in-progress in sight. When I finish one project, I immediately start another with the intention of letting it simmer. This way, I don’t have to start from scratch when I’m ready to sit down and create.
🟠 Stay Organized
I would hate to scrapbook if I were not organized. Seriously!! Staying organized saves me time and tons of frustration. YES! I’m working on an organization class…it really is coming, I promise!
🟠 Draw from Creatives
I am not a one-woman creative machine! I draw creativity and inspiration from others, just like you do. I subscribe to the newsletter of anyone who inspires me; these include writers, podcasters, artists, and scrapbookers. Heck, I even find inspiration in grocery store ads! I’ll take all the inspiration I can find!
🟠 Learn and Discover
To keep from getting in a rut, I’m always on the lookout for new things I can learn and discover. This keeps my ideas flowing. I learn from other instructors on this site as well as others. But, we, of course, have the BEST teaching ever. <wink>
