Neptune draws its inspiration from old sea legends, mythical kingdoms and stories that seem to have washed ashore from another time. In Roman mythology, Neptune was the powerful god of the sea and ruler of the waters, traditionally depicted with his trident. He was the Roman counterpart of Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea. His world of oceans, mysterious depths and ancient legends became the starting point for this collection.

Mermaids, Neptune himself, shells, pearls, seahorses and other marine treasures are mixed with aged ephemera, antique illustrations, worn textures and painterly details. The Old World Sketchbook papers add another layer to the story, with studies of sea life, underwater ruins, ancient figures, restless waters and moonlit seas. Sea glass teal, misty blue and faded aqua are mixed with rust, terracotta, sand and deep weathered greens, creating a warm, aged palette with plenty of contrast for layered pages.

Use Neptune for seaside and coastal photos, aquarium visits, beach holidays and ocean adventures, or build pages around mermaids, mythology, fantasy and old sea stories.
